Kelly and Matt currently live in Ellensburg, but are both from Tri-Cities, so they chose to have their wedding in Pasco, WA.
When we found out that Kelly and Matt wanted a traditional wedding ceremony in the auditorium of Faith Assembly Christian Church, we knew we had a challenge. The auditorium stage has a very large black curtain and features overhead lighting that can create unwelcome shadows on the bride and groom's face.
After discussing this challenge with Matt and Kelly, we decided to photograph all of their couple, bridal party, and family portraits off location in a garden setting. This allowed us to create colorful portraits of their day, and still enjoy their traditional ceremony indoors.
Kelly and Matt both enjoyed getting away from the ceremony location for awhile and taking outdoor pictures. Kelly said, "It was the most relaxing part of our day!"
Overall, the portraits were fantastic and we had an amazing time documenting Matt and Kelly's day. Thanks again for trusting us with your memories!
