When we first arrived at the Moore Mansion in Pasco, WA on Saturday morning, the first person I crossed paths with was Dan- the groom. (We'd already gotten to know each other at their engagement session, which you can view HERE). Dan was fully suited in his Marines uniform and looking really slick! So we started with some shots that featured Dan hanging out at the Moore Mansion grounds. The moment took on a special meaning when I had him turn and face the Mansion- exactly where the wedding would take place in just a few short hours. We could all sense the anticipation of the day and all that was to come, and I was glad to capture that emotion at the start of the day.
Once we were escorted into the mansion for a short tour, I knew that I would have no problem getting inspiration for the backgrounds and surroundings during photos of the couple. The interior of the the mansion featured lots of original woodwork and antique furniture . The mansion is currently being restored and the actual wedding events had to remain outside. However, we were allowed to take bride/groom pictures on a couple floors of the mansion, and it made for a very nice environment. The private indoor setting was perfect since the time I had allocated to create the bride and groom portraits was mid-day- not the best time to have an outdoor photo shoot.
My favorite ring shots yet!!
The weather was a little windy, and that was a troubling thing because both the ceremony and reception were scheduled to be outside. The wedding planners saved the day with handy mini-weights that kept the table centerpieces and linens secure. Everything went as planned, and one of our favorite moments from the reception was the song Melissa sang to Dan. So sweet! We photographed well into the night, and were able to get lots of great dancing shots of the crowd having fun.Dan & Melissa- we're so happy for you guys and your wedding was a delight! Thank you for allowing us to be involved!
And here's the slideshow with 52 of our favorites from the day:
